Payouts

Coins are real money: 1 coin = £1. The app keeps count, but it never moves money. You pay your Warrior yourself, then record it in the app. Your Warrior can also ask for a payout when they're ready.

Updated for version 1.14.0. Last updated 13 October 2026.

How a payout works

  1. Your Warrior earns coins from approved quests.
  2. If they like, your Warrior asks for a payout in the app: all of their coins, or a set amount.
  3. You pay them the money yourself, in cash or by bank transfer, outside the app.
  4. You record it: tap Pay on their request, or Mark as Paid in the Treasury.
  5. Your Warrior's app asks them to confirm they got it. When they do, exactly the amount paid leaves their coin balance and is added to their Lifetime Earned. Any other coins stay.

Savings pots

From version 1.14.0, a Warrior's coins are kept in pots. Every Warrior has a Default pot. A Strategist can add more, such as "Holiday", up to 8 at a time (Default included), each with a goal if you like. The coins are still real money, and the app still never moves it. Solo accounts and My quests don't have pots.

Saving up for something? Your coins can sit in different pots, like "Holiday". Open My pots and tap Ask for money on the pot you want paid out. Missed-quest penalties only ever come from your Default pot.

Asking for a payout (Warriors)

  1. Tap the wallet icon at the top of your home screen (Ask for a payout). You can also open Warrior Records (the shield) and tap Ask for a payout under your coins. From version 1.14.0, if your coins are in savings pots, open My pots and tap Ask for money on a pot instead (the wallet's screen sends you there).
  2. Under How much would you like?, choose All of it, or A set amount and type it in pounds and pence, such as 5 or 5.50. It has to be more than £0.00 and no more than your balance. When you ask from a pot, it's no more than the money free in that pot: what's in it, less anything already waiting to be paid out.
  3. Tap the button to send it. Your Strategists get a notification, and they can pay you or say not now.

Want your coins paid out? Tap the wallet and ask for all of it, or just some. If your coins are in pots, open My pots and ask from one pot. You can have one request at a time.

Answering a request (Strategists)

When your Warrior asks, you get a notification saying how much they asked for, and the request waits in your bell. Tap it to open the Treasury for that Warrior. The request is a card at the top, such as "Sam asked for £5.00", with two buttons:

Paying out with Mark as Paid (Strategists)

You don't have to wait to be asked. From version 1.14.0, if your Warrior has savings pots, the Treasury lists each pot with its own Mark as paid button, which records the money free in that pot (what's in it, less anything waiting to be paid out). Older versions of the app have one button for the whole balance. To pay out at any time:

  1. On your home screen, tap the wallet icon (Treasury Payments).
  2. You'll see the Outstanding Coin Balance and the Total Settlement in pounds.
  3. Pay your Warrior that amount.
  4. If you like, add a Payment Reference Note, such as a bank transfer reference. It's stored encrypted and isn't shown again in the app. We hold the key, so we can still read it if we need to.
  5. Tap Mark as Paid (with savings pots, the one on the pot you're paying from). The button then says Awaiting Warrior Confirmation... until your Warrior confirms.

Confirming a payout (Warriors)

After your Strategist records a payout, a box called Royal Treasury Settlement appears the next time your home screen loads. It says how much they sent you, how much comes off your coin balance and how much that leaves. From version 1.14.0, it also says which pot it's from. You can also confirm on the Ask for a payout screen, with I've got it.

Payout Schedule and overdue payouts

Settings → Preferences → Payout Schedule sets how often you plan to pay:

It shows Weekly and Friday to start with. It's your own setting, and it covers all your Warriors.

Tap Save at least once. Until you save a schedule, payouts are never marked as overdue, even though the screen shows Weekly and Friday.
